This panel addresses the current issues of Romani and Sinti queer_feminist positions. Personalities who have been active in this field for many years are invited to share their knowledge and analyses and to enter into dialogue with each other.
Which political-activist movements exist in this field? What issues and forms of intervention are present? What resistance do they face? What links them to the history of the Sinti and Romani civil and human rights movements? What wishes and visions do they have for a fairer future?
Amdrita Jakupi is a systemic trauma therapist and psychological counsellor. She works with refugees and traumatised women*. Amdrita co-founded the non-profit organisation save space e.V. in Cologne. A platform focussing on intersectionality, inclusion, empowerment, trauma-informed education and healing work.
Hajdi Barz is a long-standing member of IniRromnja and RomaniPhen e.V. She works in the fields of racism against Sinti:zze and Rom:nja, feminist empowerment, self-organisation and racism-critical didactics and standards.
Roxanna-Lorraine Witt is chairwoman and co-founder of save space e.V. She organises the Sinti:zze and Rom:nja Djelem Djelem Festival in Dortmund. She works in the areas of culture, language, digitalisation, racism prevention and mental health.
Sandra Selimović is an actress, director, rapper and activist whose productions and activism deal with racism, sexism, identity, feminism and marginalisation and break through the stereotypical image and clichés of Roma.
Svetlana Kostić studied social work and is part of IniRomnja and on the board of RomaniPhen e.V.. She is also the project manager of the Romnja Power (Main-)streaming project.
